When thinking of food and drink, you think almost exclusively of a social setting. But the rise of the coffee culture has created the “second office” phenomenon. Notable amounts of business are now accomplished in this setting. Take for example, Mark Pontz and Passenger Coffee.

Mark, now in his 25th year in mortgage lending, often meets new and returning clients for conversations at Passenger Coffee on King Street.

“It is the perfect setting for a meeting, mostly because Passenger cultivates a low-key and relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for discussing financial matters,” he said. “Nothing too sensitive of course, client privacy is protected, but the process of buying a home and getting a mortgage can be a bit daunting to those unfamiliar with the process.” He also mentioned that the atmosphere allows clients to relax a bit, and of course, the coffee is amazing, too.
