Wayne Mutata’s Five Healthy Tips to Keep You Motivated

Wayne Mutata’s Five Healthy Tips to Keep You Motivated

  1. Keep a gym bag in your car. Always keep a gym bag packed and ready in your car. That way you’ll never have an excuse not to go the gym!
  2. Start a fitness journal. Start a fitness journal, even if you haven’t started exercising yet. Wayne suggests recording your current weight and measurements as a baseline. “You need to have a plan before you actually exercise,” Wayne explains. “Without a starting point or a plan, you can’t measure whether or not your improving.”
  3. Start slow. A lot of people want to go gung-ho as soon as they begin exercising, but your body needs time to adjust. 70% of people who start an exercise routine which goes straight into hardcore fitness don’t keep up with it. Why? Injury, over-training, and boredom.
  4. Buddy up. Partner up. Find someone with similar goals, or a friend who encourages you. This will make fitness fun and you won’t feel like you’re working out. It’ll  feel more like you’re spending time with a friend, and you can’t beat that.
  5. Schedule your workouts each week just like you would a doctor’s appointment. Hold yourself accountable. If you fail to go to an appointment, you need to pay a fee. So, if you miss a workout schedule, take a “co-pay” out of your bank account and put it in a jar. Treat it like a missed appointment.
