Join the Arts at Millersville University for a weekend of classical music performed by some of Millersville’s best musicians! Performances take place at the Winter Center, located at 60 W. Cottage Avenue, Millersville PA.
Tickets are $10 general admission and FREE for students with valid ID’s at the door or ticket office.

Classical works by varying composers will be masterfully presented by the University Orchestra featuring the winner of the 2015 Louis Vyner Competition and the Lancaster Piano Competition. The MU Orchestra is a highly trained ensemble directed by Dr. Vera Volchansky, who has worked with orchestras and ensembles in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the United States.
Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 PM
Almost 200 singers from five choral ensembles including the University Choir, Chorale, Women’s Choir “Cantilena”, and Men’s Glee Club will perform a repertoire written solely by female composers. Pieces include the 150-voice Choral Union, a combination of three choirs performing arrangements of spirituals and folksongs by Alice Parker, popular hymn tunes such as “How Can I Keep from Singing”, the energetic American folk song, “Goin’ to Boston”, Eleanor Daley’s “Hymn for St. Cecilia”, Emma Lou Diemer’s “Three Madrigals”, and many more. References of heroic women who worked for women’s rights will also appear, such as Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Sojourner Truth. The concert will be directed by the Instructor of Choral Ensembles, Dr. Jeffrey Gemmell.
Concert Band & Wind Ensemble
Sunday, Feb. 28 at 2:30 PM
The Millersville University Concert Band and Wind Ensemble present “Sonic Flourishes for the Wind Band,” a collection of uniquely composed pieces that create tantalizing sounds not typically heard within traditional wind band repertoire. These pieces will be performed under the direction of Dr. Keith Wiley and Dr. Mark Yingling.
