LANCASTER, Pa. (September 2016) – Lancaster Bible College’s Worship & Performing Arts department brings the stories and parables from the gospel of Matthew to the stage with their production of the award-winning Broadway musical, “Godspell”. The musical, composed by Stephen Schwartz, features the 1972 Billboard hit, “Day by Day,” along with other beloved show tune classics. Watch the stories of the Bible unfold on LBC’s stage with the cast’s high-energy production show numbers, colorful costumes, dazzling lighting and hilarious comedy.

The show’s plot, taken from the narratives of Scripture, is brought to life by the cast’s passionate performances. In LBC’s rendition of the Broadway classic, Jesus, played by undergraduate student and musical theatre major Wesley Madara, will be portrayed as a teacher, while the rest of the cast will represent the general public. Judas, played by Bryson Buffington, serves as the antagonist of the show, while John the Baptist, played by Stephon Smith, portrays Jesus’ faithful disciple. “Messages of joy, peace, love, understanding and the proper way to view and treat the world are powerfully depicted in this inspirational musical,” says director Wally Calderon.

Come and enjoy this family-friendly musical in the Good Shepherd Chapel of Lancaster Bible College, located at 901 Eden Road in Lancaster. Show times are as follows:
