Letter From The Editor

Written by Mark Pontz – Editor in Chief

No matter who you are, how you like to spend your time, where you work or what you do each night… you gotta live somewhere. Right?

It’s something that is true of every one of us who is fortunate enough to consider shelter a given. From big palaces to tiny houses, and every apartment, cabin, and townhouse in between, everyone has their preference for where they most feel at home. It’s unifying in the same way that gathering for a meal is, which is why we are following our “Foodie” issue up with “Home & Living.”

As I assume a lot of people know, my “day job” for many years now is a mortgage loan officer. Every day, I love to meet new people and help them find the best financial solutions to achieve their dream of home ownership. The best part – aside from the smiles on their faces when they get the keys to their new place – is getting to know each of them individually and finding out why they chose the type of dwelling they did, and why it is the space of their dreams. It is an amazing experience that I am so fortunate to live every day, and I would not trade it for anything.

It’s this passion that’s helped informed the theme of this issue. In the following pages, you’ll read about all kinds of living experiences, and everything from designing, nesting, settling and exploring around them as well.

If you’re inspired by what you see, we would love to see some of your homes! Take a photo of your favorite part of your living space, post it to Instagram, tag us @fllmag and use the hashtag #FLLhome. We will pick our three favorite photos and publish them in the November holiday issue of the magazine, and each winner will receive a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. (No matter how much you may love that home, you can’t cook there every night!)
Best of luck! We can’t wait to see “how you livin’!”
