Tanay Harris, the Founder and Creative Director of Mommy Up! is bringing something truly unique to Lancaster County. Her new series of events called “Mommies and Mimosas” is built around creating a space for fellow mothers. “The goal is to give women the opportunity to come together in a relaxed environment to establish relationships, find inspiration, and strengthen community,” Tanay explains.
Have you ever had a question, a frustration, a struggle, or a joy through parenting and no one around to relay it to? Becoming a part of Mommy Up!, you will find a strong network of support for mothers and women who are trying to build a strong community of empowerment and comfort to one another.
Tanay funnels several containers of personal experience into one group. Not only has she recently become a mother herself, she has also worked at one of the country’s leading civil rights and human rights law firms and non-profits in New York City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. However, Lancaster is her home and she is quite excited to share this centered community of support with all of us.
Mommy Up!’s first ever event was held on Saturday, July 16 at The Pressroom. Women had the opportunity to enjoy a lovely afternoon over mimosas and light brunch while connecting through the joys and struggles.
“The women networked and made connections, while also allowing themselves to be vulnerable and go deeper so they could embrace their authentic selves,” Tanay describes. “Also, it allowed women to feel and know that they were not alone and that it’s alright to talk about the beauty and challenges of motherhood in a safe space.”
