Local filmmaker, Alexander Monelli, has been making films his entire life. A graduated of Long Island University, Al eventually transplanted to Lancaster in 2012 for his current job as Video Producer and Video Production Manager at F&M College.
The film you are about to watch is the third and final piece of a trilogy Al has been working on since 2014. The trilogy focuses on three types of performing artists. The first, “Juggle,” focused on local husband and wife juggling clown team, Cissy and the Man. The second, titled “Man With Puppet,” followed Robert Brock who owns the locally famous Hole in the Wall Puppet Theatre.
His final film, “One Hoops,” documents the life of Jenny Hill, local hula hoopist and performer. Al had the chance to enter Jenny’s world. The film is a conglomeration of footage recorded at Jenny’s home, the apartment she and her husband lived at in Lancaster, and also a handful of performances.
“One Hoops” is the perfect way to end the trilogy. But, I don’t want to spoil anything. You’ll just have to watch and see for yourself.
Fine Living Lancaster magazine would like to congratulate Alexander Monelli on his accomplishments through this film series. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
