Fine Living Lancaster, Music For Everyone, and Tone Tailors, would like to introduce their new concert series called Original Classics. Five local bands chose full albums from a hat (albums which were chosen by Jon-Paul Painton and John LeClair of Tone Tailors), which they will then perform every second Wednesday for the next several months. Each show will open up with another of the five chosen bands, who will be playing original songs for the first set.
The first concert is coming up this Wednesday, August 10 at Tellus360! The show begins at 8pm, and the proceeds from the $5 cover charge will be donated to Music for Everyone.
Opening the show will be Mark DeRose’s band, The Dreadnought Brigade, will be opening the show with a 45-minute set of original songs. Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam will close with their own take on Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life.”
“We’re going to play for at least an hour. The album is very long, so we chose a select few songs that we can cover,” Andy tells Fine Living Lancaster magazine Steely Jam has a jam band feel, which will bring the infamous album by Stevie Wonder to funky fruition.
Steely Jam band has 11 members for this particular show. Andy Mowatt plays guitar and does the arrangements, Aaron Trasatt will be on keys and vocals, Quinn Slonaker plays the bass, Taylor Wade is on drums, Jaren Angud plays percussion, Tuck Ryan and Randy Jeter and Julie Keough will dazzle us with their vocals, Sam Yorder plays trombone, Paul Berry is on saxaphone, and John Maurer will play trumpet.
