Summer Camp at Popovsky Performing Arts Studio

The perfect opportunity to get your kids out of the house and busy is coming up soon at Popovsky Performing Arts Studio. From June through August 2016, Popovsky is offering several types of summer camp opportunities for your child of any age.

11220479_994199530604334_4504791839882820700_nThey have categories of camps from grades 1st through 3rd, 4th through 6th, 7th through 10th, and 6th through 12th. Through these camp weeks, children and teenagers can explore different genres of dance, create their own show, create a pop-style vocal performance, hone their acting skills, and perform on stage!

At Popovsky Performing Arts Studio, your child’s inner superstar will shine.

Here are a few examples of Summer Camp descriptions:

(1st through 3rd grade) Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance!
July 5 – July 15 • 1:00pm – 4:30pm
Strengthen your voice and improve dance skills through the fun of theatre! Throughout the two weeks, students will work on solo songs, group songs, musical theatre dance basics as well as dance combinations.

princesses(4th through 6th grade) Triple Threat Jr.
July 5 –July 15 • 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
A “Triple Threat” performer is a performer who can Act, Sing and Dance.  In this 2 week camp, students will explore what it takes to sing dance and act on stage – often at the same time – as they learn various pieces from the musical theatre cannon.

(7th through 10th grade) ActorWorks
June 20 – June 30 • 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Join us for this interactive two-week acting intensive. Using original and scripted material students work on creating interesting characters, making bolder choices, and refining their acting technique while creating an ensemble piece.

(One-Week Intensive) Ready to Audition!
Grades 6 – 12 / Aug 1 – 5 • 1:00 pm-4:30 pm
Learn the techniques that will allow you to shine at any audition. We will cover a wealth of material such as how to create a great resume, how to handle cold reads, how to pick the right monologue, and much more. Learn how to create the right impression from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave the room.
