Be the envy of all of your friends in this unique garment featuring over 50 female pioneers of science, technology, engineering and math!
Designer, Elly Zupko of SMXL Good, created this design in response to an unfortunate wardrobe choice made by Project Scientist, Dr. Matt Taylor, in November 2014. During the epic Philae Landing on the Comet Rosetta, social media exploded with images of Dr. Taylor in #ThatShirt, which depicted scantily clad women holding weapons. This image became an unfortunate focal point on what should have been a great celebration of space exploration. Ms. Zupko states on her Kickstarter site, “I wanted to make the point that you can celebrate women you admire through your apparel–but in the context of a great scientific achievement, how about celebrating women who have made great achievements of their own?” The response was tremendous.
After being 650% funded on Kickstarter, #ThatOtherShirt went into production. SMXL Good has generously donated an inventory worth $4,000 to the Lancaster Science Factory for us to sell in our retail store. This donation will enable us to put 100% of the proceeds collected directly towards STEM programs at our museum. These shirts are currently on sale for $24.95 – $29.95 at the Lancaster Science Factory.
