Universal Athletic Club has offered non-members to use the gym on Thursdays for just $10 during Christina Diehl’s fundraising campaign, which ends on June 9. The offer is valid on exercise equipment and classes offered by the athletic club. They are donating all of the funds to LLS.
Christina Diehl >Why I’m Raising Money:
I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help the millions of Americans who are living with cancer. Each year The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Lancaster Chapter launches its Man & Woman of the Year fundraising campaign. This year I was asked to head up a team that we decided to call Team Homegirl! During this campaign from March 31– June 9, our goal is to raise $50,000 which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
My family has been directly impacted by several types of cancer. Over the last 15 years, more than 40% of the drugs used to fight other cancers started out as treatments for blood cancers. By supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, you are supporting research that is likely to change the outcome for all cancer patients. Like many of you, I have witnessed firsthand the debilitating effects that cancer can have on those who suffer. In fact, leukemia still causes more deaths among children than any other cancer. LLS is finding cures. They are funding advancements like targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them, leaving healthy cells intact. Now is the time to give.
