Season’s Readings
The FLL team believes that books make the very best holiday gifts. We’re lucky to have so many wonderful, independent bookshops in and near Lancaster County. The owners of a few of those bookstores were happy to share some of their best literary gifting recommendations for the holiday season ahead. And a bonus: Books are so easy to wrap!

The groundbreaking work Emily Wilson did in translating Homer's The Odyssey is at least matched, perhaps surpassed by the epic story of The Iliad by Homer. The battles, the gods, the tragedy, the humanity—it's all here in the unforgettable story of the Trojan War.
Something Someday is an empowering picture book featuring the prophetic voice of poet Amanda Gorman paired with award-winning illustrator Christian Robinson. Even the smallest gesture can help change the world.
Holly Gibney started off as a minor character in Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King, but she has grown through numerous stories to the point where she can carry one of King’s best thrillers in years — Holly. She has to solve a disappearance and grieve her personal losses while face to face with pure evil.
