Season’s Readings
The FLL team believes that books make the very best holiday gifts. We’re lucky to have so many wonderful, independent bookshops in and near Lancaster County. The owners of a few of those bookstores were happy to share some of their best literary gifting recommendations for the holiday season ahead. And a bonus: Books are so easy to wrap!

The Cookiepedia: Mixing Baking, and Reinventing the Classics by Stacy Adimando is the be-all and end-all reference guide for all things cookies. There’s a recipe for fruity, nutty, chocolatey, savory… literally every cookie. This makes a perfect gift for those who are just getting started, but also offers new ideas for the seasoned chef.
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott was originally published in 1868 and 1869 in two parts. Our first edition of Part Two (which takes place after the March sisters get older) would be a thoughtful gift for the classics reader in your life. This book would truly be a treasure in any home.
The Tale of Benjamin Bunny by Beatrix Potter is a great present for those who grew up with Benjamin, as well as for the little ones in your life who are just getting to know him. This story is a beloved classic that will be shared for generations to come — perfect for reading around the holidays.
