Though we opened our doors only five months before the pandemic hit, one of the biggest blessings we encountered was that through the quiet of the pandemic, we were able to focus on who we were as a business and how we needed to adapt to better serve our customers during this time.
As a retail home furnishings store that offers design services, we weren’t sure which of our products and services would connect best with the community and our customers. We offer unique decor and gifts, a variety of high-quality furniture pieces, and complimentary design services, but we didn't know what would continue to draw clientele past the first few months of our opening—and what would help keep us in business.
We pride ourselves on experience and enthusiasm in answering our customers’ questions and design needs. We love partnering with local makers and businesses to create products that are unique to our company, and love offering a variety of styles and products, no matter the need or occasion. We also work hard to update and enhance our website to allow customers to shop and explore more from their homes, and we offer nationwide shipping.
As we learned more about our customers’ needs, we were able to determine what we could do differently to make their shopping experience easier and more successful. This included everything from a higher-end upholstery line, to a larger and easier-to-shop rug selection, to extensive design services.
Once we determined that we needed to pivot to expand our product offerings and have a dedicated design studio area in the store, this ultimately guided us to the decision to move to a new location that showcases our products and services better and allows for better visibility.
We are currently preparing our new location on W. King Street, and are so excited to have a beautiful storefront in the heart of downtown Lancaster, with new and expanded product collections and a design studio where we will work one-on-one with our customers.
Though this has been a very trying time, we are fortunate that the pandemic allowed us to focus on what needed to shift in order to grow and have a better understanding of what our business will look like moving forward. The core of who we are and what we love is—and will always be—getting to know our clients and helping them select the best pieces for their style, lifestyle, and home.
