The Roads Less Travelled
Anywhere you go in Lancaster County… we have it. Gridlock. Just about any place you need to go in a hurry, you’re facing the looooooonggg backups on Lititz Pike, the lines snaking far up Fruitville Pike from the Shoppes at Belmont, waiting to exit Route 30 onto Centerville Road… ugh.
So what are you to do when you just want to enjoy the ride? For many (especially fellow BMW enthusiasts), the drive is the point. To let your car stretch its legs and wind up the tachometer a bit, all the while letting the wind blow all the cobwebs out of your mind and the stress of the day out of your soul. Sitting side-to-side, bumper-to-bumper is just not what your car—or you—want to do!
Fortunately, your salvation is just a few miles away in the backroads of Lancaster. Remember that Lancaster County is massive, and while many of us tend to stick to the congested areas for all of our “needs,” our “wants” when it comes to driving are easily fulfilled by just heading out into the more rural areas of our county. And that’s just what our team at FLL did.
In just about any direction in Lancaster County, you can find long, wonderful roads that go on for miles. Scenic, bucolic landscapes stretch out around you and give you the chance to put that rough week behind you. (Safety first, of course. Please pay attention, follow all laws of the road, and drive safely.) We took this stunning BMW 428 convertible out for a run one late-spring evening and had a blast. The BMW truly lived up to it’s “ultimate driving machine” moniker, taking the turns like it already knew that they were coming. With the top down, the refined growl of the engine provided us with an excuse to turn off the radio and get lost in our senses for a bit.
The back roads are waiting for you. Connect with BMW of Lancaster to pick your own best way to travel them.
