Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition

We believe in the possibility of an equitable Lancaster County community where all people live full, courageous, and authentic lives. 

Here at the Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition, our mission is to advocate for the health, rights, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community across Lancaster County. 

In February 2021, the Coalition launched our Homelessness Emergency Assistance and Response Team program (which is also referred to as HEART). HEART is a subsidized communal housing model that provides a supportive home where LGBTQ+ community members (between the ages of 18 to 26) can truly thrive. 

Our latest initiative is Lancaster’s first LGBTQ+ Health Consortium, along with Dr. Sharee Livingston (UPMC/Patients R Waiting), to identify and connect LGBTQ+ proficient providers, and conduct and influence research for all intersections of the LGBTQ+ community. The Coalition is also working with local nonprofit partners that advocate for underserved communities to open a community hub—a multifaceted complex, housing a collective  community center that truly welcomes all, along with a music venue, mental health clinics, legal services, and low-cost rentals for minority-owned small businesses.
