Gifts That Give Hope Alternative Gift Fair
Lancaster’s Alternative Gift Fair is now in its 14th year of providing holiday shoppers with a unique venue for purchasing gifts that go towards making the world a more peaceful, just, and equitable place for all. Since 2008, Gifts That Give Hope has been hosting an annual alternative gift fair, which features 30 charitable organizations, fair trade, social enterprise and business for good companies—as well as food trucks and vendors—all under the same roof, in order to help you make gift giving more meaningful, intentional, and thoughtful for everyone on your holiday shopping list. The gift fair encourages attendees to align their everyday humanitarian and altruistic value systems with a holiday season that doesn’t rely on a traditional consumer-heavy emphasis.
This year, the gift fair will be held in person on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Farm & Home Center (located at 1383 Arcadia Drive in Lancaster, and easily accessible from Routes 283 and 30 and Manheim Pike). We encourage you to invite a friend for lunch and make a day of it—spend time exploring all of the opportunities there are to make a difference right here in our community. In light of the ongoing challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s even more vital than ever that we continue support the many nonprofits working tirelessly to stay afloat and continue their respective missions (whether that be providing affordable housing, access to healthy nutrition for those facing isolation and food insecurity, healthcare, educational opportunities, respite care, ending poverty and so much more). Come out to learn more about organizations like Music for Everyone, Aaron's Acres, Habitat for Humanity, Walking Forward Together, CWS Lancaster, Lifecycles and more.
Plus: As always, Gifts That Give Hope will host a marketplace where shoppers can find unique handmade gifts from companies like Lush Bazaar, Friendship Heart Gallery, My Peruvian Treasures, Revolution Jewelry, Girl Crush, and more. These handmade treasures make the perfect accompaniment for alternative gift purchases!
And, of course, your holiday festivities wouldn’t be complete without delicious food! We’re proud to offer up tastes from around the world at this year’s alternative gift fair, from companies committed to using their craft to make their communities a more vibrant place. So come hungry, and get ready to sample the delicious offerings from Character Coffee Cart, Homage: Cuisines of the West African Diaspora, Gourmet Julie’s Way, Walk-O-Taco, Stroopies, and more!
