Who is Corinne? Food is the center of my life—I have a food blog, I work at the Lancaster County Food Hub as the Development Manager, I love trying new restaurants—and I like to think of it as my brand. Out of college, I moved to Harrisburg and wanted to explore the city and discover new places to eat and drink, but I was on a major budget. I scoured the Internet and found every happy hour and special in the area and just started reaching out to local spots, and that’s pretty much how @fosterthefoodie was born.
I have always been a planner and absolutely love doing research to find new spots, so it came very naturally. I figured I would share my experiences so that others could reap the benefits of my research!
Now, it’s been just about four years since I started my account. I’ve lived in Lancaster for almost two and I am still finding new restaurants. It’s definitely a foodie town and that’s what I love most about Lancaster!
What can you expect if you follow Corinne? My account features the best food and drinks in Central PA — mostly focused on Lancaster and Harrisburg. I post about any and all specials and happy hours, and I try to keep my features on options under $16 (with the occasional splurge, of course!).
What’s the most exciting opportunity Corinne has had thanks to social media? Starting @fosterthefoodie has given me so many incredible opportunities that I could have never imagined. I laugh thinking about the low goals I had set for myself when I first started — I said to my coworkers at the time that if I could get one free meal, I’d feel like a success. Since then, I’ve worked with so many amazing local restaurants and businesses, as well as some super cool national brands.
But even with all of the super cool partnerships, the thing I am most thankful for is the friendships I’ve made. It’s crazy to think how different my life would be without this account, and I am so grateful that it brought me so much love and happiness.
